Dominic Thorne, the head of the Styx Gang, swims in a pool while his guard reports that a traitor in Philadelphia was handled. Dominic coldly gives the order to kill the man. Later, Elodie approaches Dominic at the poolside and asks for one hundred thousand dollars. Dominic asks what she will do for the money. Elodie offers to become his contract lover. Dominic stares at her without answering.

2. EP 2: The Poolside Test

Dominic questions Elodie by the poolside about her proposal. He asks how much she likes him and why she would demean herself like this. Elodie insists the arrangement is strictly business and admits she needs the cash that very day. Dominic asks if she would go to another rich man if he turned her down. When he learns she cannot swim, he tests her resolve. He tells her that jumping into the deep pool is his only condition for giving the money. Elodie stares back at him in fear.

3. EP 3: Into the Deep

Elodie takes off her top and wades into the pool. She sinks straight to the bottom. Dominic dives into the water, rescues her, and orders his subordinate Cole to call a doctor. After Cole confirms Elodie will recover, Dominic orders him to draft a lover contract. Dominic visits Elodie in the study later that night. She thanks him for the money, but he reminds her of his brutal reputation as the boss of the Styx Gang. He carries her to the bedroom, and their physical relationship begins.

4. EP 4: Contract Expiration

Three years pass under their arrangement. At a golf club, a wealthy client insults Elodie and tries to touch her. Dominic knocks the man down and orders Cole to drag him away. Back at the estate, Dominic accuses Elodie of trying to seduce rich men. Elodie cries and reminds him their contract is about to expire. Later, Elodie takes a pregnancy test in the bathroom and sees two lines. She walks toward Dominic's study to tell him, but she overhears an associate ask if he is getting engaged. Dominic says the choice is undecided.

5. EP 5: Money and Pride

Elodie steps into the study and confronts Dominic about his possible engagement. Dominic confirms the news and mocks her. He asks if she is simply afraid of losing her financial support. Elodie hides her heartbreak and congratulates him. Dominic loses his temper, backs her against a bookshelf, and kisses her. Elodie pushes him away with force. Dominic opens a briefcase, pulls out a stack of hundred-dollar bills, and holds the cash to her face to buy her compliance. Insulted and furious, Elodie slaps him hard across the cheek.

6. EP 6: The Rival Appears

Elodie meets her friend Nora at a cafe to talk about her secret pregnancy. Elodie explains that Dominic does not love her, and she fears he will force her to get an abortion. Nora urges her to demand accountability, but Elodie insists on raising the child alone. Vanessa Sinclair suddenly arrives with a friend and mocks Elodie for being poor. Elodie defends herself with sharp words. Vanessa smiles and announces that Dominic Thorne is now her fiancé. Vanessa walks away, and Elodie breaks down in tears at the table.

7. EP 7: Flight in the Night

Elodie packs her luggage inside the mansion and prepares to run away. Cole tries to stop her because he fears Dominic's anger, but Elodie refuses to stay another day. She walks down the front steps and speaks softly to her unborn baby. Cole calls Dominic to report her escape. While Elodie walks along a dark street, three thugs surround her and begin to harass her. She pleads with them to leave her alone. A car suddenly pulls up with bright headlights, and a man steps out into the night.

8. EP 8: The Devil of Chicago

Dominic steps out of the car with a gun aimed at the muggers. The men recognize him as the devil of Chicago and run for their lives after Dominic fires a warning shot into the ground. Dominic turns on Elodie in anger. He demands to know why she risked her life by running away. He pulls her into a passionate kiss, loads her suitcase into the car, and drives her back. During the ride, Elodie remembers Vanessa's cruel words. She turns to Dominic and asks if he ever loved her.

9. EP 9: The Charity Gala

Dominic coldly tells Elodie he does not love women who put money before men. He warns her never to run away again. Elodie visits an obstetrician with a friend, and the doctor confirms the baby is healthy. Dominic calls her back to the mansion and throws a tight gown at her for a charity gala. When Elodie resists, he hands her a one-million-dollar check. She secretly resolves to escape after the party. At the banquet, a waiter offers champagne. Elodie refuses the drink, and Dominic asks what has changed.

10. EP 10: Fall on the Stairs

An aide interrupts Dominic at the banquet to announce an urgent gang meeting. Dominic leaves Elodie alone and heads upstairs. Vanessa enters the meeting room and demands to talk about their upcoming wedding. Dominic calls her by the wrong name, says he already rejected the marriage proposal, and throws her out.
