I just finished watching the opening stretch of The Mafia Don's Son Found a Plus-Size Mom on Stillpointe, and the story hooks you right away. It starts with Tamsin at her lowest point. Her ex-husband, Gideon Rusk, shows up at her food truck with his new partner. Gideon wrecks the truck, throws food at Tamsin, and insults her weight before shoving her to the ground. Homeless and carrying her luggage down the street, she hears a struggle in an alley and spots three masked men shoving a young boy named Iver into a van. She throws a heavy gas canister at the vehicle, knocks out the kidnappers, and saves him.
Tamsin spends her last six dollars buying bread and sausage to make the frightened child a sandwich. She brings him to the police station, but when she returns home, her landlady threatens immediate eviction over unpaid rent. The next morning, luxury cars surround her. Iver runs into her arms, refusing to let her go. His father, Dashiell Veyr, is a powerful mafia boss who uses a wheelchair after a car crash. He tries to hand her a check for one hundred million dollars, but she flatly refuses it.
Iver will not eat food from private chefs. He only wants meals made by Tamsin. Dashiell hires her as a live-in caretaker at Veyr Manor, raising her requested five thousand dollar fee to fifty thousand a month.
