Avery walks into the apartment wearing a St. Mary's cap to hide the bruises on her face. Gavin, Miles, and Theo greet her warmly and prepare food. The fathers bicker over their rotation schedule for her upcoming school ceremony. Avery claims the award is tiny to keep them away. Gavin takes a phone call about a raided shipment. Avery cries and begs them to stop taking dangerous work.
Avery walks through the front door wearing a St. Mary's cap pulled low over her bruised face. Gavin announces her arrival to the apartment. Miles and Theo join him in greeting her warmly while finishing dinner preparations.
The three fathers argue over the rotation schedule for attending Avery's school award ceremony. Each man wants to go. Avery fights back tears, hides the truth about her punishment, and tells them the event is not worth the trip.
During dinner, Gavin steps to the window for a phone call about a compromised shipment and a target jumping into a river. Avery hears the conversation and tearfully begs her fathers to stop taking such dangerous jobs for money.
“Avery's home.”
“It's just a minor award. Not worth the trip.”
“That shipment is being targeted again. The Mark jumped into the river. This money is too hard to make.”
“Can you guys please stop taking jobs like that?”
Avery breaks down in tears at the dinner table and begs her fathers to stop accepting dangerous assignments. Gavin, Miles, and Theo freeze and stare at her in complete silence. Will the three fathers discover why Avery is wearing the cap, and will they reveal the truth about their real work?
