At the manor, Chloe hugs Lucifer Valentine for a brief moment. She immediately turns down his proposal to become his contract mate and walks out the door, leaving him alone in the room.
Chloe rushes to the hospital room where her brother Finn lies in critical condition. The attending doctor gives her grim news, warning that the toxin gives Finn only twenty-four hours to live without an antidote.

“My rose, time’s running out. Have you thought about it? In all of North America, no one would dare give you Bloodvine without my permission.”
