Rafael hires Claire to accompany him to a formal gala. The next evening, she dresses in an elegant gown, and Noah praises her look before Rafael tells him to call her Mommy. Claire worries about making mistakes, but Rafael and the Butler reassure her. At the gala, Claire mingles at Rafael's side. When Rafael steps away, Preston Hollis spots Claire alone, grabs her wrist, and questions her identity.
In the bedroom, Rafael touches Claire's wet hair and asks her to be his date for a gala tomorrow night. He promises to pay her for the appearance. Claire accepts the offer without hesitation.
Claire descends the stairs dressed in custom couture and sparkling jewelry. Noah admires her stunning appearance, prompting Rafael to instruct the boy to call her Mommy. Rafael clasps her hand and tells her to stay by his side.
Claire remembers wearing a plain dress for an event with Preston's family. Preston's mother ridiculed her appearance in front of everyone. Preston then ordered Claire to return inside the house and put her apron back on.
Claire arrives at the gala holding Rafael's arm and shares toasts with the guests. Rafael whispers to another guest and steps away for a moment. Claire sits alone by a table and drinks a glass of champagne.
Preston Hollis notices Claire looking radiant across the room. He walks up behind her, grabs her wrist tightly, and asks if it is really her. Claire turns around to face her ex-husband in the crowded ballroom.
“There's a gala tomorrow night. You're coming with me.”
“Call her Mommy.”
“Mrs. Moretti, you don't need to know the rules. Mr. Moretti writes them.”
“Claire? Is it really you?”
Preston Hollis grabs Claire's wrist in disbelief after spotting her at the high-society event. Separated from Rafael in the crowded room, Claire must face the man who once humiliated her. How will Preston react when he discovers Claire's new status as Rafael's wife, and will Rafael return in time to step between them?
