Movie star Lexington Hall turns eighteen, accepts an award, curses out the industry, and smashes his trophy. Security hauls him away while his mother Veronica Hall panics. At a produce stand, Stevie St. James sees the meltdown on television and heads to Maple Creek High for an audition. Lex drives his blue sports car into the lot. Stevie reverses her truck into his vehicle, and Lex leaps into her cab, splashing her drink.
Lexington Hall receives the Best Youth Actor prize on his eighteenth birthday. Instead of thanking the crowd, he swears at the room, curses the film business, and shatters the award. Security drags him away as Veronica Hall watches in terror.
Stevie St. James watches Lexington on a vintage television at her family produce stand and insults him. A phone alert reminds her about tryouts for the drama production. She bids Mr. St. James goodbye and heads out in her truck.
Students gather on the school steps with handmade posters to greet Lexington Hall. The girls scream as a blue sports car zooms onto school grounds. Stevie spots the fast car as she tries to find a spot to park.
Stevie puts her red truck in reverse and crashes straight into Lexington's sports car. A mob of screaming classmates swarms the scene. Lex flees the crowd by yanking open Stevie's passenger door and tumbling inside, soaking her shirt with her beverage.
“Fuck you!”
“Fuck this disgusting industry! I'm never acting again!”
“What a spoiled Hollywood asshole.”
“Shoot, Dad, I've got the school play audition. I gotta go.”
Lexington Hall sits inside Stevie's cab to escape his screaming fans, leaving her drenched in liquid and staring at him in disbelief. Stevie has an audition to reach, and Lex has a damaged sports car behind her truck. Will Stevie kick the disgraced movie star out, or will Lex pull her into his chaotic life?
