Claire Bennett brings a present to Dylan Hayes's birthday party. When a woman in a pink dress flirts with Dylan, Claire states she does not care who he adds. A woman in a black dress then pours red wine down Claire's back. Dylan tells Claire to accept an apology slice of cake. Claire eats it and leaves to change. Severe hives break out from the mango. At the elevator, a man pulls her into a hug.
Claire Bennett walks into the birthday suite with a gift. A woman in a pink dress asks Dylan Hayes for his contact details. Dylan tries using Claire to dismiss her, but Claire plainly replies that she does not mind who he adds.
A guest in a dark gown pours wine down Claire's back in Dylan's defense. The woman hands Claire a plate of cake to make amends. Dylan pushes Claire to take some. Claire eats a small piece and walks away to wash up.
Claire breaks out in painful hives in the hallway. She recalls that Dylan loves mango and knows the dessert had it inside. Claire covers her face with a cap and mask, then pushes the elevator call button. Once the doors part, a man embraces her.
“I've wanted him for ages, and you're treating him like he means nothing. Someone had to stand up for him.”
“She apologized. Be nice. Or did you never want to come—or even have a slice of my birthday cake?”
“Dylan loved mangoes. His birthday cake was probably mango. And I was allergic.”
Claire Bennett suffers an allergic crisis in the corridor as hives spread over her skin. She hides her face under a cap and mask, then presses the elevator button. The doors open, and an unknown man immediately pulls her into his arms. Who is embracing Claire, and can she get help before her reaction worsens?
