Outside Bluebird Motel in the rain, pregnant Emily Carter crawls to her stepmother and pleads for her baby. Her stepmother coldly rejects her. Vanessa Carter arrives with a young man holding an umbrella. Vanessa gloats about seizing the Carter assets and reveals their father's past with her mother. The stepmother stomps Emily's hand and commands bodyguards to beat her. Thugs brutalize Emily and abandon her on the wet street.
Emily Carter crawls along the wet pavement outside Bluebird Motel. She clutches her pregnant belly and begs her stepmother to help save her unborn child. Her stepmother stares down at her and coldly refuses to offer any help.
Vanessa Carter walks up beside a young man holding an umbrella over her head. She mocks Emily on the ground. Vanessa announces that the Carter family assets belong to them and claims their father loved her mother first.
The stepmother steps onto Emily's hand with her high heel and presses down hard. She turns toward the waiting bodyguards and gives a harsh command. She tells them to thrash Emily, keep her barely alive, and dump her outside.
The bodyguards surround Emily and violently assault her on the pavement. Blood spills onto the rainy ground as they strike her repeatedly. The stepmother, Vanessa, and the young man turn and walk away into the night together.
“Save my baby. He's innocent, mom.”
“I'm not your mother. That sickly mother of yours died long ago.”
“Sis, you thought you were the only Carter heir. I'm his daughter too.”
“Beat her. Leave her breathing, then dump her.”
“The Carters... One day, I'll take back everything I lost.”
Emily lies beaten, bleeding, and alone on the soaked pavement outside the motel as her attackers walk away into the dark. Through the physical agony, she vows to reclaim everything taken from her. Will Emily and her unborn baby survive this brutal assault on the freezing street?
