Vanessa and her companion walk outside to the street. An employee runs over to return a hospital notice that Bill left behind. Vanessa's red sports car suddenly explodes in flames. She reads the paper from Dawson Medical Center and leaves to find Bill. At the hospital, the doctor tells Bill that Susan can get surgery, but demands an extra hundred thousand dollars. Bystanders mock Bill, and Vanessa appears at the door.
Vanessa and her friend walk outside and wait for the street signal. A store employee runs over to return a hospital notice Bill left behind. Vanessa's red sports car explodes in fire. Vanessa decides to search for Bill at Dawson Medical Center.
The doctor tells Bill that Susan can undergo surgery if Bill pays another hundred thousand dollars. Bill asks for one day to get the cash. A nearby couple sneers at Bill's appearance, but Vanessa speaks up from the doorway.
“Thank God I listened to him and waited ten minutes. Otherwise... I'd be dead.”
“We're going to Dawson Medical Center right now. I want to find out everything about him...”
“Why should I believe you? Look at yourself. You think someone dressed like that can come up with a hundred grand in one day?”
“I can.”
