Episode: 4
Miles Carter walks alongside Elliot Ashford in the garden, teasing him and pinning a red rose to his shirt. When Elliot resists, Miles takes a hose from a gardener and drenches Elliot in water. Miles then taunts Elliot to hit him and dashes away. Enraged, Elliot clenches his hand into a fist on the armrest and gives chase. Catherine Ashford and Thomas witness this movement from the balcony.
Miles walks beside Elliot's motorized wheelchair and tells him to get some sun. He picks a red rose and pins it to Elliot's shirt. Elliot tells Miles to stay away, but Miles leans close and refuses.
Miles grabs a garden hose from an estate gardener and sprays water straight at Elliot. Elliot glares through the cold soak. Miles smiles back and asks the drenched heir if he feels awake yet.
Miles stands in front of the wheelchair and dares Elliot to hit him. Then Miles runs across the lawn. Elliot's fingers tighten into a hard fist on the armrest as he drives the wheelchair after him.
Thomas watches from the terrace above and drops his tablet in surprise. He alerts Catherine Ashford to Elliot's hand. Catherine stares down at the lawn in shock as she realizes her son moved his fingers.
Miles waits near the garden fountain until Elliot reaches him. Elliot angrily yells at Miles to get out and drives off. Alone, Miles looks down at his phone and recalls a hospital call about his mother.
“Can't do that. I'm your bodyguard, I have to stay close.”
“No, make me. Go on, hit me.”
“He made a fist!”
“Get out!”
After chasing Miles to the fountain, Elliot screams at his bodyguard to leave and speeds away in his wheelchair. Miles remains by the water and checks his screen. A memory surfaces of a phone call from a clinic regarding Mrs. Carter. What is happening with Miles's mother, and will Elliot fire him after this stunt?
