Episode: 2
Luna texts Kaito Mori the assistant's meeting details and looks at the old clipping about her mother's death. She remembers Mori's offer to fund her schooling. At the office, Gideon Shaw gives her an English translation of a Japanese payment report. Luna notices the English text falsely claims the money arrived. She warns Rowan Vale, who refuses to sign. Outside, Luna secretly messages Mori that Rowan will attend the interrogation.
Luna texts Mori the location and time for the assistant's rendezvous. She looks at an old newspaper clipping about the warehouse fire that killed Elenore Walsh. Luna remembers Mori promising to pay for her education and track down the killer.
Gideon Shaw hands Luna an English summary of a Japanese payment document to take to Rowan Vale. Luna compares both versions. She spots that the English page marks the payment finished, while the original Japanese text lists it as pending confirmation.
Luna brings both papers into Rowan's office and points out the translation lie. Rowan refuses to sign the inaccurate English file. He orders a corrected copy and instructs Luna to join him to interrogate the assistant tomorrow at nine at night.
Luna steps out into the hallway and leans against the wall near Rowan's door. She takes out her phone and secretly texts Mori. She confirms that Rowan will attend tomorrow's meeting with the assistant in person.
“That's not what this says.”
“Then both versions should say the same thing.”
“I want every word, Luna.”
Luna stands in the hallway and sends Mori a hidden message confirming Rowan will go to the assistant's meeting in person. Both sides prepare for the face-to-face confrontation tomorrow at nine o'clock. Will Luna manage to balance Rowan's demands and Mori's orders when they confront the assistant, or will her secret alliance get exposed?
