Aurora wakes from a coma into a new body and sees two beast-eared boys watching her. She recalls a nightmare of a giant python. Debt collector Brielle enters with Bruno to seize young Ren over past debts. Aurora absorbs memories of her past cruelty and her bond with General Kael. Far away on a warship, Kael senses the mark burning. Back in the apartment, Bruno attacks Ren, and Aurora steps in to fight.
Aurora jolts awake from unconsciousness on the floor of a battered apartment. She stares at her hands in shock. Across the room, she spots two young boys with animal ears watching her every move with wide, fearful eyes.
In a vivid nightmare filled with purple lightning and crashing thunder, a massive black and purple python coils tightly around Aurora. The beast demands answers about her cruel treatment of the children and threatens to claim its debt.
Back in the room, little Ren trembles and asks if his mother plans to sell him again. Synd quickly steps in front of his younger brother, glaring at Aurora with fierce hostility to shield Ren from any harm.
Brielle bursts into the apartment alongside a hulking enforcer named Bruno. Bruno violently kicks Aurora down onto the floor. Outside the door, neighbors gather in the hallway to whisper about Aurora's history of selling and abusing her children.
Lying hurt on the floor, Aurora experiences a sudden rush of the original host's memories. She learns she was an F-rank outcast who bound Kael through a forced contract and spent years mistreating her three young cubs.
Aboard an imperial warship bridge, Kael suddenly clutches his arm as his contract mark glows with searing pain. His adjutant Jax asks if the general's wife is in danger, but Kael assumes Aurora is torturing him again.
Bruno grabs Ren, but the terrified boy bites down hard on the thug's hand. In a fit of rage, Bruno threatens to break the child's neck. Aurora realizes she must step in and protect the cubs to survive.
Bruno swings his heavy fist toward the defenseless cub. Aurora rushes forward and blocks the strike with bare hands, locking Bruno's arm in place. She glares into the enforcer's eyes and vows to defend her son with her life.
“I'm... I'm not dead?!”
“Synd, Mom's awake... is she gonna sell me again?”
“Hand over the kid! Today's the day you promised to sell him to me. Where is he?”
“You lay another finger on my son, and I'll fight you to the death!”
Aurora firmly grips Bruno's arm, stopping his blow inches from Ren. She glares at the debt collectors with fierce resolve, ready to battle them to the death. Can Aurora overpower Bruno and drive Brielle away, or will the violent thugs still manage to take her young son?
