Aurora bandages Ren's arm at home. Two Federal Enforcement Corps officers burst in to take Ren away over abuse claims. When one officer throws Synd to the floor, Aurora's bond mark activates. She channels Grade B psychic energy from Kael, blasts the officers, and drives them away. Far off on his warship, Kael feels his power drain and strikes his console. Giant mutant beasts then slaughter the officers outside while Aurora gathers her cubs.

The two federal enforcers step onto the roadway outside the building. Colossal mutant monsters suddenly charge through the area, killing both officers on the spot while neighborhood residents run away in complete panic.

Aurora peers outside and spots the giant beasts tearing through the district. She wraps her arms around both boys to keep them safe, while Kael walks down his warship's corridor with a stern expression.
