Frank's phone rings before they can continue. Vera calls to say she has returned to the country and is waiting downstairs. Frank drops Betty and runs out to meet her. Betty stands up and leaves the office by herself.

2. EP 2: Vera Returns

Betty receives a call about a hospital lecture that could help her mother. She walks to Frank's office to ask for time off. Betty knocks and opens the door. She sees Vera sitting directly on Frank's lap on the couch. Betty formally requests the afternoon off, and Frank agrees. Betty turns to leave the room. Vera calls out and asks if she is Frank's secret wife.

3. EP 3: Past Meets Present

Vera mocks Betty from Frank's lap. She claims Frank only married Betty for an inheritance and picked her because she resembles Vera. Betty walks away in silence. At the hospital, Betty gets a text confirming Frank paid her mother's medical bills. She reminds herself that this marriage is just a contract to save her mother. A man in a grey suit suddenly grabs Betty's arm in the corridor. It is her ex-boyfriend from three years ago. He demands to know why she ended their relationship back then.

4. EP 4: Cornered in the Lounge

Betty tells her ex-boyfriend to lower his voice, but he pulls her into a hospital lounge. Frank walks through the hallway with a doctor and spots Betty walking away with another man. Inside the lounge, the man pushes Betty against the wall. He demands to know why she disappeared three years ago. Betty lies and says she dumped him for a rich man. Betty tries to walk out the door. Her ex slams the door shut to block her. He shouts that he still loves her.

5. EP 5: The Hidden Ring

Charlie begs Betty to come back to him. He says he missed her every day for three years. Betty shows him the wedding ring on her necklace and says she is already married. Betty refuses and turns the door handle to exit. Frank reaches for the outside handle at the exact same second.

6. EP 6: Maggie's Cruel Deal

Betty exits the room and walks past a man in a suit. That night, she sits on the floor at Frank's place, drinking alone and looking at an old photo of Charlie. A flashback reveals how their breakup happened three years ago. An elegant woman named Maggie offered to pay for Betty's mother's surgery if Betty dumped Charlie. Betty agreed to save her mother's life. Maggie dropped the check on the pavement and stepped on Betty's hand. Betty sits alone in the dark, remembering that painful sacrifice.

7. EP 7: Whispers in the Dark

Frank comes home late and finds Betty asleep on the sofa after drinking. He asks her where she went that afternoon. Betty is drunk. She wraps her arms around Frank, confesses her love, and kisses him before passing out. Frank carries Betty to the bedroom and covers her with a blanket. Betty starts crying and tossing in her sleep. She mumbles that she is innocent and begs for someone to believe her. Frank freezes in shock when Betty calls out Charlie's name in her dream.
