Betty enters Frank Lewis's office to speak with him about her mother's medical expenses. Frank beckons her closer and kisses her passionately on the sofa. She halts him because they have no condoms. Frank suggests having a baby together instead. Betty firmly refuses, noting their contract ends with a divorce in five months. A phone call from Vera interrupts them, sending Frank running downstairs and leaving Betty alone.
Betty walks into the president's office to talk about paying her mother's medical bills. Frank Lewis signals for her to approach him. He pulls her onto the couch and begins passionately kissing her before she can discuss the money.
Betty stops Frank by pointing out that they have no protection. Frank proposes having a child, but Betty rejects the idea. She reminds him their marriage contract requires them to get a divorce in five months, so she will not risk pregnancy.
Frank's phone rings, and he answers Vera, who announces she has returned and is waiting downstairs in his building. Frank drops everything, abandons Betty on the couch, and rushes out. Betty stands up quietly and walks out behind him.
“We're out of condoms. I might get pregnant.”
“Then let's have a baby. I don't mind.”
“Baby, according to the contract, we're getting divorced in five months. You wouldn't want me to become a single mom, would you?”
“Vera, what's up? What, you're back in the country? You're at my office building right now? Got it. I'm on my way.”
Frank rushes out of his office to meet Vera downstairs, leaving Betty entirely on her own. Betty picks herself up and walks out of the empty room. How will Vera's sudden arrival shake up Betty's contract marriage with Frank, and will Betty ever get the money she needs for her mother's hospital bills?
