Felix wakes up chained in a dungeon under a red moon. Three thugs whip him, claiming Kane ordered them to punish his defiance. At the palace, a guard reports Felix missing. The mark on Kane's palm burns with light, signaling that Felix is in danger. Kane mounts his black dragon and leads an army into the night. When the captors pour wine on Felix and grope him, Kane smashes through the dungeon roof.
Felix wakes up bound to a wooden rack under the red moonlight. Three brutish captors strike him repeatedly with whips. A scarred thug claims King Kane ordered this beating because Felix refused to submit to royal authority.
A guard tells Kane that Felix disappeared from his palace quarters. Kane reacts with fury at the news. Suddenly, the mate bond mark stamped into Kane's palm flares red, warning him that Felix faces immediate danger.
Kane climbs onto the back of his massive black dragon in the palace grounds. He commands a legion of beasts and winged drakes to launch into the red night sky to track down his missing mate.
The captors taunt Felix while he hangs helplessly from his chains. They pour wine over his body and fondle him. The thugs laugh and tell him that nobody will ever come down into the dungeon to rescue him.
One of the thugs reaches for Felix's waistband. Stone fragments burst downward as the dungeon ceiling shatters. Kane drops in atop his roaring black dragon with his army, roaring at the thugs to step away from Felix.
“His Majesty Kane sent us.”
“Because I wouldn't submit, he means to destroy me?”
“Felix... he's in danger.”
“Get away from him!”
Kane smashes through the dungeon roof riding his black dragon, backed by his beast army. He shouts at the captors to back away just as a thug touches Felix's waistband. Will Kane execute the thugs before they hurt Felix further, and will Felix realize Kane did not order this torture?
