Episode: 2
Lucien uses a hidden seal to suppress his power. The crystal shows no reaction, and the crowd laughs while Lucien celebrates evading a royal marriage. The crystal tip cracks slightly before the proctor names Gavin Norlan the top A-Class mage. Gavin chooses Lucia but demands Leah too. Leah refuses him. Gavin angrily dares her to pick someone else. The crowd scatters, and Leah selects the solitary Lucien.
Lucien activates a hidden seal to hold back his magic. The testing crystal gives zero response to his touch. The onlookers mock and laugh at him, but Lucien quietly celebrates because the failed result frees him from a forced royal marriage.
The tip of the magic crystal cracks without anyone noticing. The test proctor announces Gavin Norlan as the top A-Class mage. Reginald Ashburn steps forward and tells Gavin he can choose either Leah or Lucia as his bride.
Gavin accepts Lucia to fight Blackstone, but he demands Leah as well. Leah calls him a hypocritical bastard and refuses his offer. Reginald Ashburn scolds Leah for risking their family alliance and endangering their sole defense against Blackstone.
An enraged Gavin stamps his foot and discharges crackling electric magic. He challenges Leah to choose any other man from the square immediately. The terrified onlookers quickly flee the street, leaving Lucien standing completely by himself.
Leah extends her arm and points straight toward Lucien in the empty street. She tells everyone present that she will marry him instead of Gavin. Her sudden announcement leaves Lucien staring back at her in complete shock.
“Sweet! The old king can't blame me for this.”
“I'll take Lady Lucia. And help you fight against Blackstone. But... I have one condition. I'm taking Leah as well.”
“I don't care how strong he is. He's just a hypocritical bastard!”
“I'll marry him.”
Leah points directly at the disguised beggar Lucien and declares to the entire crowd that she will marry him instead. Gavin and the Ashburn family stand stunned by her defiance, while Lucien is caught completely off guard. Will Reginald Ashburn permit this marriage, and can Lucien keep his true identity hidden?
