A former surgeon wakes up in bed with an abdominal stab wound. After overhearing her husband Adrián and his assistant, she realizes she has transmigrated into a novel as Lucía. Adrián wheels in with a divorce agreement and a settlement check. Remembering that running off with Darío led to Lucía's murder in the book, she rejects the split. She covers Adrián's legs with a blanket, but an urgent call announces that Darío is dying.
A woman wakes up in bed clutching a fresh stab wound on her abdomen. Outside the bedroom door, she hears Adrián speaking with Mateo. Listening to their conversation makes her realize she has transmigrated into a novel as Adrián's wife, Lucía.
Adrián rolls into the bedroom using his wheelchair. He places a divorce contract and a settlement check in front of Lucía. He tells her plainly that as soon as she signs her name on the papers, she is free to leave.
Lucía remembers the story where the original character ran away with Darío and got murdered. She rejects the paperwork, calls Adrián her husband, and tucks a blanket over his legs. She announces she has no intention of ever leaving him.
A strange golden light flashes across Lucía's eyes. Before anything else happens, a loud phone call interrupts the room. The caller shouts that Darío is on the verge of death. Adrián glares at Lucía and coldly commands her to pick up.
“Marido, no me voy a separar.”
“¿Qué fue lo que me acabaste de llamar?”
“Contesta.”
The episode closes on high tension as the phone rings with news that Darío is dying. Adrián stares Lucía down and orders her to pick up the call, refusing to let her ignore it. Will Lucía rush to Darío's aid, or will she stay by Adrián to protect her own life?
