Adrián agrees to attend the Vega family banquet following his grandfather's orders. Outside the manor, Lucía appears wearing everyday clothes and offers to wheel Adrián forward. Adrián brushes off her public display and enters with Mateo. Once inside, Adrián leaves her alone while he visits friends. Lucía approaches the buffet for snacks. Daniela suddenly steps forward to mock her attendance, but Lucía remains calm and readies her response.

Episode 5 Scene by Scene

  1. 00:00: Hallway Discussion Before the Banquet

    Adrián explains in the hallway that he cannot disobey his grandfather. He promises to leave right after presenting the birthday gift so Lucía will not be embarrassed. Lucía quietly criticizes her novel parents for forcing this marriage and slandering Adrián.

  2. 00:19: Arrival at the Vega Estate

    Adrián waits in the courtyard beside Mateo. Lucía joins them in simple casual clothes and reaches for Adrián's wheelchair to display marital affection. Adrián rejects her gesture with cold words about Darion, instructing Mateo to wheel him away instead.

  3. 01:22: Left Alone in the Hallway

    Lucía remembers that the original novel character shoved Adrián down a flight of stairs. She realizes why he remains suspicious of her motives. Adrián then claims he must meet some friends and departs, leaving Lucía by herself in the hall.

  4. 01:47: Confrontation by the Buffet Table

    Lucía walks over to the buffet station to grab dessert. Daniela arrives wearing a teal suit skirt and confronts her directly. She sneers that Lucía came to beg for food and does not belong at the party. Lucía stays completely composed.
