Episode: 7
Lucía knocks Daniela onto the table with a slap. When Mercedes charges forward to retaliate, Adrián rolls in to protect his wife and halts the attack. Mercedes attempts to calm the dispute by ordering Daniela to say sorry. Lucía rejects the gesture and insists that Mercedes drop to her knees before Adrián. When Mercedes balks, Lucía cuts all financial and family connections with the Vegas and delivers an ultimatum.
Lucía strikes Daniela across the face, knocking her onto the table. Mercedes rushes over furiously to punish Lucía for the attack. Before she can strike, Adrián rolls into the living room in his wheelchair and directly blocks the blow.
Adrián questions the family for trying to make Lucía kneel before them. Mercedes attempts to diffuse the anger by telling Daniela to apologize. Lucía rejects the offer and orders Mercedes to drop to her knees and apologize to Adrián instead.
Mercedes refuses to drop to her knees in front of Adrián. In response, Lucía declares she is cutting all financial and family ties with the Vega household. She locks eyes with Mercedes and challenges her one final time to kneel down.
“¿A quién le vas a dar una lección?”
“A mi marido te me arrodillas y le pides perdón.”
“Desde hoy voy a cortar todo vínculo económico y familiar con la familia Vega.”
“¿O no te vas a arrodillar?”
Lucía stands firm against Mercedes and cuts off every connection between herself and the Vega family. She locks eyes with her stepmother and delivers a final, defiant question about whether she will kneel before Adrián. Will Mercedes bend her pride and submit to Lucía's demand, or will the Vega family let the ties break completely?
