Episode: 5
Laila collapses with a fever after seeing Jaden stand, and Jaden vows to guard her forever. He carries her downstairs, stunning Carmela and Vittorio with his healed legs. A subordinate alerts them that Leo ambushed Alaric at the docks. Laila awakens from a deadly vision of Alaric getting shot in the chest. She begs Jaden to intervene. Jaden rushes out, arriving just as a flying knife hits Leo's gunman at the pier.
Laila watches Jaden stand up on his feet and then faints from a cold. Jaden gathers the unconscious girl into his arms. He makes a direct pledge to protect her and punish anyone who ever dares to hurt her.
Jaden carries Laila into the living room on his own two feet. Carmela cries with relief, and Vittorio stares in disbelief. A subordinate interrupts with urgent news: a traitor trapped Alaric alone in a Moretti ambush down at the docks.
Laila suffers a violent premonition during her sleep. In the vision, heavy rain pours over the shipping yard. Alaric takes a bullet directly to his chest, drops his golden handgun onto the wet pavement, and lies dying in the dark.
Laila jolts awake from the nightmare and screams for help. She begs Jaden to run and save her father immediately. Jaden holds her tight, turns toward the entrance, and sprints out into the storm without a moment of hesitation.
Leo and his armed men surround a bleeding Alaric beside the shipping containers. Leo mocks the defenseless boss and orders an execution. A sudden blade cuts across Leo's cheek and strikes his shooter in the throat, killing him on the spot.
“I promise you. No matter what happens, Uncle Jaden will never leave you.”
“God heard Laila's prayers! She's our blessing!”
“Uncle Jaden! Go save Daddy!”
“Alaric, without the Shadow, Jaden, you Voss bastards are nothing but sitting ducks.”
“A Voss never backs down.”
Leo stands stunned as blood trickles down his face and his henchman drops dead from a throat strike. Alaric remains cornered and bleeding by the containers, but the lethal throw changes the balance of the fight. Who threw the blade into the pier, and can Jaden pull Alaric out alive before Moretti backup arrives?
