Victoria injects an unknown fluid into Lia's arm. Lia's heartbeat goes haywire, and she falls from her seat as monitors blare. Guards pin the Medical Director against the wall. Lia thinks back to Dante politely asking for her help when he was in a wheelchair. Back in the room, Lia suffers on the floor. Miles away, Dante's mechanical heart shrieks, waking him up to rush home.
Victoria presses the plunger on the syringe into Lia's vein. Lia's cardiac monitor sounds an alert as her heart rate accelerates out of control. Lia slides to the ground. Armed guards grab the Medical Director and hold him away from the patient.
In a memory, Lia meets Dante while working as a waitress. He sits before her in a wheelchair, looking frail. Dante asks for her consent instead of commanding her. Because he treats her with respect, Lia agrees to the paid arrangement.
Lia twists in pain across the tiles. Victoria watches her collapse without showing any emotion. Hospital staff attempt to push a medical gurney past the guards and through the doorway to reach the falling patient before her heart stops.
A piercing alarm rings from Dante's chest unit in the Brooklyn clinic. Dante opens his eyes and yanks off his oxygen mask. Despite his painful wounds, he sits up and instructs his crew to bring the car around for the estate.
“Victoria, you're insane!”
“Are you willing?”
“What if I say no?”
“Prep the car. Back to the estate.”
Dante pulls himself off the clinic cot, ignoring warnings from his assistant about his heavy injuries. He demands an immediate drive back home to protect Lia. With Lia losing consciousness on the floor and Victoria watching her fade, will Dante reach the compound before Lia's heart stops beating completely?
