Queen Sophia meets with Princess Ara Meren in the throne room to talk about Blackrock Duchy. An elven advisor urges caution, but Sophia sends Duke Oren to blockade the border. Ara then announces she will end her marriage to Reville Merser in three days. She plans to grant him lands and a title. Meanwhile, Shadow Elf warriors ambush Oren's army on the battlefield, wounding the duke and forcing his retreat.
Sophia and Ara Meren discuss threats from Blackrock Duchy inside the throne room. An elven advisor speaks up and advises against a hasty military strike. Sophia rejects the warning. She reports that Duke Oren is already leading a border blockade.
Ara Meren addresses the court regarding her husband, Reville Merser. She states that she will dissolve their marriage in three days. To settle matters before he departs, Ara decides to grant Reville royal territories alongside an official title.
Duke Oren leads his soldiers forward, but Shadow Elf warriors spring a surprise attack. Enemy fighters swarm the royal troops across the field. Oren suffers serious wounds during the strike. Trapped and bleeding, he calls for an immediate retreat.
“I have already ordered Duke Oren to launch a blockade against them. Good news will arrive soon.”
“In three days, Reville will dissolve our marriage and leave the kingdom.”
“The Blackrock army is aided by Shadow Elf warriors! Damn it! We've been tricked! Cover my retreat at once!”
Duke Oren collapses on the battlefield with severe injuries as Shadow Elf warriors slaughter his remaining soldiers. His planned blockade has failed completely. Can the wounded duke survive the ambush and make it back to White Spire, or will the enemy crush his forces before the royal court discovers the truth?
