    Evelyn dries her cheeks, agrees to become his wife, and leans down to kiss Alexander. The priest announces the marriage. Alexander draws her into his arms, whispering that he looks forward to seeing that bold attitude in their private bedroom.

    Dressed in a silk robe, Evelyn follows a maid through the hallway. She opens the door to find Alexander soaking in the bath without a shirt, scarred across his torso. His eyes turn gold as he directs her to step inside.
