At night, Evelyn lies beside Alexander to help him if he falls out of bed. Alexander privately feels pleased to have her close. The next morning, Evelyn gets ready to leave. Alexander gives her his late mother's sapphire ring meant for his Luna. Evelyn heads to the plaza to bring Lily home. Samantha chokes Evelyn over Liam's injury, splits the ground into fire with magic, and orders Evelyn to walk through it.
Evelyn lies down next to Alexander in their bedroom. She tells him she is there to help if he falls out of bed during the night. Alexander thinks to himself that having her beside him does not feel bad at all.
Evelyn wakes up in the morning and says she must go out. Alexander takes a sapphire ring off his necklace and offers it to her. He explains it belonged to his late mother, and Evelyn promises to keep it safe.
Evelyn goes to the plaza to find Lily. Samantha grabs Evelyn by the throat, and Liam insults her. Samantha then shoves Evelyn to the ground, splits the stone floor open with her magic, and commands her to step across the fire.
“My mother gave it to me before she passed away. She wanted my Luna to take it.”
“You have the nerve to show your face here? Look what you did to my Liam.”
“I wouldn't touch a human like you if you were the last woman alive. I only want Samantha.”
“Easy. Walk through it.”
Samantha pushes Evelyn to the ground and uses magic to tear the plaza tiles apart. Fire erupts from the fissures right in front of Evelyn. Samantha stands over her and orders her to walk into the flames. Will Evelyn risk stepping into the fire to reach Lily, or will Alexander find a way to intervene?
