Episode: 5
Kane returns home to Aunt Ella with singed hair and claims it was a training mishap. Ella serves him soup, reminds him of his parents, and gives him her savings for the upcoming magic forest trial. Kane takes only two coins. Upstairs in his attic room, a dark glow radiates from Kane's chest. Malkorth manifests as a tiny dragon, complaining about his long imprisonment and demanding his seal be broken.
Ella cooks soup as Kane comes home. Seeing his singed hair, she asks if bullies harmed him. Kane calls it an accident from training. When he mentions the trial in three days, Ella hands over her life savings. Kane takes just two coins.
Kane rests on his bed, thinking about Ella's sacrifices. A black light shines from his chest. Malkorth appears as a miniature dragon, whining about being trapped for eighteen years. Kane brushes off the complaints, noting his magic purified the beast.
“Kane you're the son of heroes. His majesty waved your tuition so you could study Magic and carry on Lord Rowland and lady Selina's legacy.”
“Kid it's been eighteen years. When will you lift my seal? I'm an ancient black dragon who could destroy the world, not some trinket you carry around.”
“Quiet colbol without my magic purifying you you'd still be a bloodthirsty monster with no mind of your own.”
“Don't call me colbol! I'm the great lord Malcoth!”
Malkorth throws a tantrum in the bedroom attic, furiously shouting that he is the great Lord Malkorth and not some creature named Coalball. He refuses to accept Kane's casual disrespect. With the Magic Forest trial only three days away, how will Kane handle an ancient black dragon living inside his chest?
