Ella projects a holographic Earth to show Kade how the failed Prometheus project unleashed aether energy in 2027. Kade brings the cube to Marcus, a local blacksmith with a cybernetic red eye. Marcus scans the item in horror and identifies it as the forbidden XM-70 core. He warns that the Obsidian Order will slaughter the entire town to claim it. Skull-masked cultists on black horses ride into town. They demand the core. Kade bars his door, but an attacker smashes through the wood with a heavy battle axe.
