Zack visits Dawson to ask for a wedding blessing before marrying Elsie. Dawson gives a brief word and sends him out. Dawson calls Cassia, but she does not pick up. An hour later, he leaves a voicemail warning her not to return at all if she stays away today. Meanwhile, Cassia visits a cemetery office. She buys a plot next to her mother, pays upfront, and takes a taxi to the graveyard.
Zack visits Dawson's study seeking a blessing for his upcoming wedding to Elsie. Dawson gives a quick blessing and dismisses him. Later, Dawson phones Cassia. When she fails to reply after an hour, he leaves a harsh voicemail threatening her.
Cassia meets with cemetery staff to select a grave beside her mother, Helga Miller. She signs the paperwork as Cassia Jones and pays all funeral costs with her card. Cassia tells the worker not to contact anyone about her service.
On Christmas Eve, Cassia walks inside a flower shop and purchases a bouquet of white roses. She cries softly as her fingers brush the petals. Holding the fresh flowers tight, she steps back out into the falling winter snow.
Cassia gets into the backseat of a yellow taxi while holding her white roses. She instructs the driver to take her directly to Woodlawn Cemetery. The cab drives away down the snowy city streets into the quiet night.
“Dawson, my wedding to Elsie is tomorrow. I came to ask for your blessing. A real one.”
“If you're not back today, don't bother coming back at all.”
“There's no one. Don't notify anybody. No one's coming to see me off.”
“Woodlawn Cemetery.”
Cassia rides through the snowy Christmas Eve night in a taxi, clutching white roses on her path to Woodlawn Cemetery. Meanwhile, Dawson sits at home furious about her absence, completely unaware of her impending death. Will Cassia reach her mother's grave in time, and will Dawson realize she is dying before it is too late?
