In the design office, Director Nathan hands Emma a Valentine's bouquet and invites her to celebrate his birthday over dinner. Ethan observes the exchange through his glass window. Later, Emma leaves her sketches in Ethan's empty room and messages him. Ethan texts back, telling her to bring the work to a restaurant. Emma arrives at a private room. When Nathan cancels by phone, Ethan forces Emma to take a seat opposite him.
Director Nathan approaches Emma in the design workspace with a bouquet of flowers. He invites her out for his birthday meal. Next door in his glass room, Ethan glares at them, watching Emma accept the flowers and agree to the plan.
Emma steps into Ethan's vacant office to drop off her design drafts. She sends him a text to inform him. Ethan immediately replies with a specific restaurant address, instructing Emma to bring the design drafts directly to him there.
Emma enters a private room set with candles and rose petals to give Ethan the drafts. As she turns to leave, Nathan calls and calls off their evening. Ethan tells Emma her date is over and insists she sit with him.
“It's Valentine's Day, isn't it?”
“Your date's cancelled. Tonight, you sit right here.”
“Ethan, why ruin my dinner?”
Emma sits across from Ethan at the candlelit table covered in rose petals. Nathan is no longer coming, and Ethan has trapped her into staying. Emma confronts Ethan directly, asking why he ruined her dinner plans. Did Ethan manipulate Nathan into canceling, and how will Emma handle being alone with Ethan on Valentine's Day?
