Episode: 7
Inside the underwater cave, Adrian touches his new face and remembers the pain of his physical shift. He checks a crystal shard and admires his slender reflection. He practices swimming, amazed by his light movements. Adrian declares to the Conch Spirit that no one will laugh at him tomorrow. The creature begins to warn him, but stops. Adrian darts away in excitement while the creature wonders if he can survive until midnight.
Adrian touches his face in disbelief inside the cave. He flashes back to the burning agony of shedding his chubby body. Raising a crystal shard, he stares at his reflection and marvels at his handsome new look.
Adrian swims around the cavern to test his altered form. He feels thrilled by how effortless and light his motions are now. He gleefully turns to the creature and announces that nobody will mock him tomorrow.
The Conch Spirit begins to offer a warning, but decides against it and says to enjoy the moment. Adrian swims off happily into the sea. Behind him, the cat-headed creature quietly questions if Adrian will survive until midnight.
“First one always hurts. Suck it up.”
“Tomorrow, tomorrow when they see me, no one's going to laugh. No one.”
“Let's see if you even make it to midnight.”
Adrian departs the cavern in high spirits, eager to display his handsome appearance to everyone at the academy. Yet the cat-headed Conch Spirit watches him leave and wonders if he will last until midnight. Does the transformation come with an unmentioned time limit, or will the spell fail before Adrian even faces his peers?
