After winning his campaign, Sir Edmund Reed orders Oswin Vale to bring him rags. Edmund begs for food in the town market, facing insults from passing crowds. Margaret Carter and Rosamund Carter recognize him and laugh at his state. Aveline Carter approaches and gives him an entire sack of bread. In return, Edmund hands her a lion medallion. Rafe suddenly arrives to capture Aveline, so she names Edmund her husband.

00:00: Edmund Orders a Beggar Disguise
Sir Edmund Reed arrives at camp with his victorious army and his rewards. Instead of celebrating, he turns to Oswin Vale. Edmund commands his subordinate knight to find and bring him a beggar's outfit right away.
00:28: Insults in the Market Street
Edmund sits on the street dressed in ragged clothing. He reaches out toward the passing townsfolk and asks them for food. The local people refuse to help him, shouting insults at him as they walk past his spot.
00:55: Mocked by Margaret and Rosamund
Margaret Carter and Rosamund Carter walk through the market and spot Edmund in his rags. They recognize him immediately. Both women openly mock his fallen condition and explicitly tell their servant to stay completely away from the beggar.
01:44: Bread for a Lion Medallion
Aveline Carter stops beside Edmund at the market stalls. She gives him her entire sack of bread. Edmund accepts the food and hands her a royal knight's lion medallion, telling her it will bring gold in times of trouble.
02:44: Aveline Claims a Husband
Rafe catches up with Aveline to drag her away to marry Sir Roland Boyd. Aveline pulls away, darts behind Edmund, and grabs his hand. She announces directly to Rafe that she is already married and that Edmund is her husband.
