I just spent the evening watching this fantasy story, and the setup grabbed me immediately. Dragon Emperor Waldric rules the skies on his white dragon Solaris, but his own adopted son Draven turns against him. Draven secretly poisons Waldric's tea for three years, steals his golden essence, and hurls him off a high cliff into the abyss. Stolen power immediately rejects the traitor, dragging Draven into a dark void. Waldric's physical body dies, yet his soul shoots across the continent and wakes up inside a young mortal named Kane Westland.
Kane has lived as a frail half-blood with no dragon bond. Everyone in the Westland clan treats him like an embarrassment, including arrogant pure-blood cousins who look down on his commoner mother. His sister Layla tries her best to shield him, but Kane has centuries of combat knowledge and royal dragon authority locked inside his head. When heralds arrive to announce Emperor Waldric's death, the nobles celebrate the power vacuum. Kane walks straight up to the Dragon Emperor's sealed scepter and takes it with his bare hands.
What follows is pure payback. The elders drag Kane to the arena to strip his family bloodline, and Kane steps onto open air above molten lava without batting an eye. Ancient dragons do not care about clan rules; they answer directly to his soul. You can watch The Last Dragon King‘s Bonded online right on this page. The Last Dragon King‘s Bonded Episode Guide
EP 1: Betrayal and Rebirth
Waldric duels Draven in the clouds and wins with white dragon Solaris. When Waldric lands to offer reconciliation, Draven reveals three years of poisoned tea. The traitor drains Waldric's golden power, drops him off the cliff, and banishes Solaris. Draven's body ruptures under the stolen power, and a dark void pulls him inside. Golden energy shoots across the land from Waldric's falling body. A frail young man named Kane Westland wakes up in a stone bedroom, remembering the betrayal. Armored scouts find Waldric's dead body on the ground below.
EP 2: The Sealed Scepter
Kane tests his weak new body inside his room. Layla runs in to hug him and scolds him for entering the mystic forest alone without a bonded dragon. Outside, a knight announces that Emperor Waldric fell at Cloudpeak. Layla breaks down in tears while Kane realizes Draven's plot succeeded. They attend their grandfather's banquet, where arrogant nobles mock their commoner mother. Kane notices the Dragon Emperor's scepter resting inside a glowing barrier. The guests laugh at him, but Kane steps forward and touches the magical seal with his bare hand.
EP 3: The Essence Unleashed
Mocking nobles leave Kane alone by the relic. Kane laughs at their ignorance and presses his dragon crest against the shield. The ancient barrier shatters, sending a massive beam of golden light into the sky before Kane leaves with the scepter. Outside on the cliff altar, pure-blood youths finish taming a black dragon. The clan elders spot the golden pillar and recognize the Dragon Emperor's true essence. They race back into the banquet hall and find the protective barrier destroyed. The clan leader immediately locks down the estate and orders a full search.
EP 4: Trial of Blood
Guards intercept Kane in the hallway while he carries the Dragon Emperor's staff. Kane admits he took the relic, so they drag him before the elders. A grey-haired elder demands to strip Kane and Layla of their inherited dragon bloodline. Layla enters the council chamber to shield her brother from punishment. An arrogant blond noble steps forward and challenges Kane to a duel in the arena for the bloodline rights. Kane accepts the challenge without hesitation. The Patriarch approves the match, and Kane vows to protect what his father left behind.
EP 5: The Boiling River
The trial begins at a wide river of boiling lava. The announcer tells the competitors they must cross safely to reach the arena floor. Derek summons a white ice dragon to freeze a path across the pit. Cassius calls a red magma dragon and rides across the surface. Layla begs Kane to forfeit because he lacks a dragon bond. Derek mocks him as a useless half-blood. Elders urge Kane to step down, but Kane tells Layla to trust him. Kane steps directly toward the molten rock, declaring fire will not touch him.
EP 6: Golden Flame
Layla offers to summon her dragon and shield Kane during the crossing. Kane declines her help and steps off the stone ledge into empty space. Golden platforms and runic shields instantly materialize beneath his boots. The arena crowd watches in silence while nobles wait for him to burn. A massive golden dragon spirit rises behind Kane and roars toward the sky. Elders recognize the pure primeval Golden Dragon Flame. Kane finishes his walk across the lava and steps onto the center platform. The presiding lord stands from his throne in total shock.
EP 7: Fingers Against Fire
The family lord declares the first round a draw and begins the dragon combat trial. Derek vows to destroy Kane and summons his high-tier fire beast, Pylos. The dragon blasts streams of fire across the arena, but Kane dodges each blast with quick footwork. When Pylos fires again, Kane lifts two fingers and deflects the blast into the air. Elders gasp at the raw dragon force flowing from a bondless youth. Derek flies into a rage, ignores warnings from the sidelines, and orders Pylos to kill Kane with Sky-Scorching Flame.
EP 8: The Beast Submits
Drake orders Pylos to burn Kane alive. Layla begs her cousin to intervene from the balcony, but rules forbid interference. Kane looks into the eyes of the raging dragon and speaks its name. The fire dies down immediately. Pylos bows its giant head, allowing Kane to pet its snout. Drake screams insults and kicks the beast, but Pylos knocks him across the stone floor. The entire crowd falls silent as a bonded beast turns on its master. Kane continues stroking the dragon while the ground begins to violently shake.
EP 9: Awakening Zepharion
Spectators on the high balcony feel heavy tremors coming from the underground nest. The earth cracks open, and the ancient white dragon Zepharion erupts onto the stadium floor. Kane stands beside Layla while the colossal beast towers over the arena. Derek rushes forward and claims he summoned the ancient dragon himself. He orders the beast to crush Kane into the ground and mutters hateful threats. Zepharion completely ignores Derek's shouts. The white dragon walks straight past the noble and bows before Kane, locking eyes with its true master.
EP 10: The Emperor's Shadow
Kane strokes Zepharion's snout while the sacred dragon nuzzles him with deep affection. The arena goes dead quiet. An arrogant blonde noble and his elder father accuse Kane of using dark magic to control the sacred creature. Zepharion snarls and unleashes an overwhelming wave of draconic pressure. The blast drops the accusing elder to his knees. An armored knight points out that mortal sorcery cannot bend an ancient dragon's mind. Layla defends Kane from the crowd. On the upper deck, an elder spectator wonders if Kane is the fallen ruler from Cloudpeak.
