Nina wakes up to noises in the bedroom closet and finds Adrian going through her things. He searches for her eight-thousand-dollar watch so Chloe can look polished at a corporate job interview. Nina tells him that she got rid of it already. Adrian grabs her arm in frustration, calls her cold, and leaves to purchase a replacement. Nina steps out onto the balcony, dials Mason, and asks how assets are split in a divorce.
A loud rustling sound wakes Nina from her sleep. She walks over to the walk-in closet and catches Adrian opening drawers. He shifts through her personal storage spaces, searching specifically for her eight-thousand-dollar watch.
Adrian admits he plans to hand the watch to Chloe for an upcoming company interview. Nina listens to his reasoning without flinching. She looks him in the eye and plainly states that she already sold the watch.
Adrian grips Nina by the wrist, calling her cold and selfish. Nina reminds him that Chloe is merely his student rather than her daughter. He angrily storms toward the door, promising to buy Chloe a brand-new boutique watch instead.
Nina stands outside on the balcony, watching Adrian speed away in the SUV she purchased for him. She takes out her phone and calls Mason directly to discuss dividing their shared property in an upcoming divorce.
“Chloe has an interview at a big company tomorrow. She doesn't have a decent watch to help her look presentable.”
“I sold it.”
“She's your student, not my daughter.”
“Hello, is this Mason? This is Nina. Yes, I'd like to ask about properly division in a divorce.”
Adrian speeds away in the SUV Nina bought him, heading to a boutique to spend money on Chloe. Nina stays behind on the balcony and speaks to Mason about legal separation and asset division. Will Mason help her secure what is rightfully hers, and how will Adrian react when he discovers Nina is preparing for divorce?
