Ethelyn asks Maria for directions, and Raymond discovers a path behind the thorny hedge. Ethelyn gives Maria a box of snacks after seeing bitter weeds in the girl's basket. When Ethelyn collapses, Maria holds her hands and wishes the sickness away. A golden light cures Ethelyn instantly. Ethelyn lifts a heavy rock, learns Maria is five years old, and asks to visit Maria's village. Maria agrees but issues an unexpected warning.
Madam stops coughing and asks Maria for directions along the road. Maria points toward a thorny hedge. Raymond steps over to inspect the bushes and uncovers the concealed route their carriage missed.
The little girl reminds Madam of her late daughter Lily. Madam looks into Maria's basket and finds only bitter weeds. She tells Bella to bring out a box of snacks and presents it to Maria.
Madam drops to the ground as her sickness flares up. Maria takes Madam's hands and asks for her illness to fly away. A golden glow radiates from Maria's hands, and the ailment leaves Madam right away.
Madam stands up and feels completely restored. She picks up a large boulder without any strain. She asks the child for her name and age. Maria answers that she is five years old, leaving Madam full of pity.
Madam wants to bring gifts to Maria's family and asks the girl to guide her to the settlement. Maria agrees to show the path. She then looks up and tells Madam to stay cautious on the journey.
“So this kid is not dumb!”
“Madame is a good person, Madame's illness fly away!”
“Bella! Raymond! I suddenly feel that that my body isn't so uncomfortable anymore!”
“Be careful of what?”
Maria agrees to take Madam to her village, but she warns the noble lady to be careful. Madam asks what she needs to watch out for, and a sudden flash of light blinds the area. What danger waits for them in Maria's village, and what caused the sudden flash?
