Cyrus stands, walks, and weeps in an embrace with Ethelyn while a cat-eared maid watches with suspicion. He picks up Maria, takes steady steps, and promises to care for his new sister. Ethelyn puts Maria into bed in her own room and gives her a plush purple dragon. While Maria sleeps, an orb leaves the toy and enters her forehead. Maria sees Regulus, Cyrus, and Ethelyn killed in terrifying visions.
Ethelyn and Cyrus weep and hug as Cyrus walks across the room. A cat-eared maid glares suspiciously in the background. Cyrus lifts Maria, displays his steady footing, and promises to grant any wish and protect his new little sister.
Ethelyn leads Maria to her new bedroom. When Maria explains that she has only ever slept in a cowshed, Ethelyn is heartbroken. She tucks Maria into the bed and hands her a soft plush purple dragon toy to keep her company.
A glowing orb leaves the dragon toy and enters sleeping Maria's forehead. Prophetic visions follow: Duke Regulus takes an arrow through the chest, a horse crushes Cyrus, and a hooded assassin stabs Ethelyn from behind. Maria cries out in agony and terror.
“I drank Maria's medicine to stand up!”
“Mom, Maria has never slept in a bed.”
“Dad! Three brother! Don't die!”
“Mom!”
Maria wakes up screaming in agony and terror after witnessing a hooded assassin stab Duchess Ethelyn in the back during her mystical premonition. Can Maria find a way to warn her new family in time, or will the violent deaths of Duke Regulus, Cyrus, and Ethelyn come to pass just as she saw them?
