Episode: 4
Lucia Fernandez shops at a local supermarket, where a worker named Sophie spots her au pair badge. Sophie urges Lucia to flee Richard Sterling and slips her a phone number. At the mansion, Lucia tells Margaret about the encounter. Margaret drops a milk bottle in terror and claims escape is impossible. Lucia rushes upstairs to pack and finds Richard going through her suitcase. Richard pockets her passport and threatens her.
Lucia buys groceries when a store employee named Sophie spots her au pair badge. Sophie grabs Lucia, whispers that Richard will ruin her, and gives her a phone number. Sophie then dashes away down an aisle before anyone sees them talking.
Lucia carries the bags inside and tells Margaret about the warning at the grocery store. Margaret drops a bottle of milk onto the tiles in fright. She tells Lucia to run, but quickly breaks down and declares it is too late.
Lucia dashes upstairs to her bedroom to pack her things. She discovers Richard searching through her suitcase. He clutches her passport, refuses to hand it back, slides it into his jacket, and steps forward with a blunt threat against her.
“Listen to me. Run. While you still can. He'll destroy you. Just like he destroyed me.”
“No... It's too late. You can't leave anymore...”
“Without your papers, you won't last long here!”
Richard stands inside Lucia's bedroom with her passport tucked securely inside his jacket pocket. He corners her, warning that she cannot survive in the country without her identification. Lucia is trapped in the mansion without her travel documents. How will Lucia find a way out now that Richard controls her legal paperwork?
