Unseen by Catherine, Lily smirks.
Lily gives Emily a phone during breakfast under the pretense of welcoming her. A moment later, Lily acts shocked while reading her own screen. She announces to Richard and Catherine that Emily has an existing criminal record.
Both parents immediately question Emily about the accusation. Emily clarifies that she was framed and the charges were dismissed years ago. She directly asks Lily how she found out about sealed records that were never mentioned to anyone.
Lily starts crying loudly and claims she only wanted to protect the family reputation. Catherine wraps her arms around Lily to soothe her. Richard scolds Emily for speaking up. Behind Catherine's back, Lily casts a malicious smirk at Emily.
“Oh my God, I heard something about Emily. Someone told me she has a criminal record.”
“How did you know about those files? I never told anyone.”
“I was just trying to protect the family. How can you accuse me like this? I didn't do anything wrong.”
