Jack takes an envelope from Emily's belongings and hands it over to Lily in the rose garden. Seeing the file inside, Lily destroys the paperwork with fire. She instructs Jack to tell Catherine that Emily is dangerous. Catherine barges into the storage room, finds scissors in a drawer, and cuts Emily's face with the metal blades. Ignoring Emily's protests, Catherine locks her wounded daughter inside.
Jack finds an old case file envelope inside Emily's bag and hands it to Lily outside. Alarmed by what she reads, Lily burns the document. She orders Jack to run to Catherine with a fabricated story about Emily wielding scissors.
Catherine marches into Emily's quarters alongside Lily and Jack. She pulls scissors from a drawer and strikes Emily's cheek with them, drawing blood. Emily states they are only for mending clothes, but Catherine insults her and locks the door shut.
“Run to mom. Tell her Emily has scissors in her room and keeps talking about hurting the family, that she's mentally unstable.”
“What the hell is this! You want to hurt someone? You want to destroy this family?”
“That's for sewing. I use it to patch my clothes.”
“DNA hasn't even come back yet. Who knows what kind of gutter rat crawled in here.”
