    Richard confronts Emily directly. He cancels every card she has and orders her locked in the storage room. Catherine pulls Lily into a tight hug. Lily hides behind Catherine's shoulder and gives a subtle, conniving smirk while weeping.

    The door shuts on Emily in the cramped, dusty storage room. Cardboard boxes surround her in the dim space. She sits curled up completely alone on a narrow folding cot, separated from everyone else in the house.
