Klaus catches a fleeing vampire on the castle roof and forces him to admit that Vlad is behind the recent attacks. The attacker reveals that Vlad uses a crystal ball to drive vampires into a frenzy. Mia arrives on the roof with a bleeding hand, and Klaus tends to her wound. He brings her back to her room and gives her medicine, but Mia begs him to stay because she is afraid.
Klaus corners the blonde vampire on the castle roof after saving Mia. He uses dark magic to hold the attacker in place while demanding to know who authorized the attempt on Mia’s life, asserting his ownership over her.
Under the pressure of Klaus's red-veined dark power, the blonde vampire breaks. He reveals that Vlad is orchestrating the chaos using a specific crystal ball designed to infect lesser vampires with a maddening bloodlust.
Mia wanders onto the rooftop with a cut on her palm. Upon hearing Vlad's name, she reacts with a sudden memory. Klaus stops his interrogation to attend to Mia, bandaging her injured hand with visible concern.
Klaus carries Mia to her bedroom after the incident on the roof. He provides her with a dark medicine to manage her pain and physical distress, ensuring she is settled comfortably in her bed.
As Klaus prepares to leave the room, Mia reaches out to grip his hand. She cries and begs him not to leave her alone in her frightened state. Klaus comforts her and promises he will return.
“Where do you think you're going? Who gave you permission to lay a hand on her? She belongs to me!”
“It's Vlad. He has a crystal ball. It can drive the lesser vampires mad.”
“Please don't leave me. I'm so scared.”
“I will come back, just wait for me.”
Klaus pulls his hand away and walks into the darkness to pursue the threat posed by Vlad. Mia remains alone in her bed, trembling and watching him leave. As the shadows swallow the Duke, Mia is left in the quiet room, wondering if he will actually return to protect her or if she will be hunted again.
